THE Real Estate Institute of Victoria (REIV) has elected Richard Simpson as its new president following the resignation of Adam Docking.
Simpson will assume the role through to October 2022 and his appointment comes after Docking’s shock resignation last month.
“I’m committed to continuing the hard work of past President Adam Docking as our organisation continues to build a strong and sustainable property sector in Victoria,” Simpson said.
“We have a lot of work to do to effect sound public policy during a year that brings federal and state government elections.
“I look forward to working with REIV CEO Quentin Kilian and his team, as well as liaising closely with our national entity the REIA, as, together, we seek to serve the best interests of our members and promote fairness and transparency for all participants in the sector,” he said.
Simpson is a partner in W. B. Simpson & Son, a family real estate business situated in North Melbourne which is celebrating its 150th year of service in 2022. Prior to joining the family business, he was a Chartered Accountant with a major firm where he worked in the banking and finance and property development sectors.
He has previously served as chair of the REIV Commercial & Industrial Chapter Committee.
