THE Australian Property Institute has elected Tony Gorman as the new national president, taking over from Phil Western who held the position for two years.
Gorman comes from the API’s WA division and has previously held positions on several API boards and committees, including chairman of the Continuing Professional Development Committee (WA Division), Structural Review Committee (National), vice president of the WA Division, and member of the National Professional Board. In 2011, he was appointed junior national vice president of API.
He graduated in 1989 with a Bachelor of Business, majoring in Property Valuation and Land Economy (as it was then known), and joined Glendinning & Associates in 1991, becoming a partner in 1999. His main roles now include completing a wide range of commercial and industrial valuations, court work and mentoring other valuers in the Commercial Division.
Gorman said he was thrilled to be elected API national president and was looking forward to the challenges that lay ahead.
