MAXCAP Group is expanding its national presence, adding Adam Cook as a director for its direct investment team.
Cook has over 17 years of real estate investment and development experience, having worked across multiple asset classes, as a developer, investor and financier to equity partners, financiers and government authorities.
At MaxCap, Cook will be based in Melbourne and report to head of direct investment Simon Hulett and will be responsible for creating new equity investment opportunities with joint venture partners, as well as overseeing Victorian, South Australian and Western Australian transactions.
“We are delighted to welcome Adam to MaxCap. His background and extensive experience complements our existing team and will add considerable value for our partners and stakeholders,” said Hulett.
Cook will also add to MaxCap’s product and capital raising strategies, in addition to the direct investment team’s larger strategy and managing relationships with industry members.
Cook was previously at Wingate Group as a director, having formerly worked as general manager commercial at Australian Unity in their retirement village and residential aged care division.
“We have established a significant existing portfolio and live pipeline of investment opportunities and the depth of ongoing market opportunity is considerable. We are committed to investing in our platform to support our strategic growth plans and continue to build our capability and capacity to capitalise on this,” concluded Hulett.
Having most recently funded such projects as Homecorp’s Eve Residences on the Gold Coast and the redevelopment of Brewery Yard within Sydney’s Central Park precinct, MaxCap also recently reached its first close on its MaxCap Diversified Opportunity Fund, with the first tranche of capital raising oversubscribed at $125 million.
