BROOKFIELD Multiplex and Lend Lease have been awarded joint winners of the Australian Construction Achievement Award by the Australian Constructors Association.
The Brookfield Multiplex project was the RMIT Swanston Academic Building in Melbourne whilst the Lend Lease project was the new Royal Children’s Hospital also in Melbourne.
The total value of the seven finalist projects exceeded $5 billion.
ACA president Glenn Palin said that the two projects represented the best of the best for project design, delivery, innovation and technical excellence coupled with excellent safety outcomes and superior project management.
He also praised the quality of the five other finalists, which he said the judging panel had commented had exceeded the expectations of their clients, and the other applicants whose projects had not been shortlisted for the final judging process.
