CBRE has acquired Australian infrastructure and development services firm Thelem Consulting, bringing an extra 40 professionals in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane to the group’s existing project management arm.
Thelem provides development planning and feasibility services, design management, construction planning, contract, commercial and strategic procurement services. Its roster government and private sector projects include the new Sydney Fish Market, Quay Quarter Precinct, the Waterloo Redevelopment Project, Barangaroo, Sydney Metro, White Bay Power Station, the Parramatta North Program, Parramatta Light Rail and Cairns Convention Centre Redevelopment.
The acquisition means CBRE’s project management group will now consist of more than 165 professionals in Australia.
“This acquisition will strengthen our ability to provide a broad range of infrastructure and development services to government and private sector clients and will enhance our expertise in the areas of economic and social infrastructure,” Scott Jackman, managing director of CBRE’s Pacific project management business, said.
Thelem’s CEO Justin Woodcock will assume a national role at CBRE as director, development and infrastructure.
“This acquisition will provide our existing clients with access to a broader range of fully-integrated real estate services, while giving our employees significantly enhanced career and learning opportunities,” Woodcock said.
