SAVILLS has bolstered its business in Queensland, with a new client advisory and valuation team and two appointments within the industrial team.
Under the leadership of Savills national head of advisory Neil Murphy, the new national service line sits within Savills established valuation and consultancy division. Murphy, based in Savills Brisbane office, has been promoted to the new national role to expand Savills client advisory services across all states.
Murphy said there is growing demand from property owners and tenants for specialist advice in reviewing statutory valuations used to levy rates and taxes.
“Clients are seeking national capabilities in this area and under Savills new Advisory service we now have a strong national team in place with dedicated personnel in each state.
“This includes Ray Berryman in Melbourne, who previously headed up the CBD team for the Melbourne Council, and Andrew Johnston in Sydney, Savills National Head of Valuation & Consultancy,” he added.
Property Council of Australia Queensland executive director Kathy Mac Dermott said Murphy’s expertise and advice was invaluable to the Property Council during negotiations to reform Queensland valuation legislation.
In other news, Savills has added two new recruits to its Brisbane industrial team. Shaw Harrison has been working in the industrial property sector for five years and joins Savills from Wright Property.
Jack Morrison has also joined the Savills industrial team after spending two years at Savills in the graduate training program. He will be concentrating on the inner south precincts.
