CONSOLIDATED Hotel Group has appointed David Mckillop as chief executive officer.
The company is the newly established hotel management arm of Consolidated Properties Group, which had previously outsourced operations.
With a background of more than 27 years in the hospitality industry, Mckillop will oversee the strategic operations and management of the company’s stable of hotels.
CHG currently owns four hotels in Queensland and northern NSW – the Surfers Rowers bar and restaurant at Surfers Paradise, the Boardwalk Tavern at Hope Island, the Australian Hotel at Murgon and the Sandbar + Grill at Casuarina Beach in northern NSW.
Mckillop said the new direction for the group is to position the Boardwalk at Hope Island as a landmark on the Gold Coast.
“The goal for the Surfers Rowers is to attract a broader market through development of function rooms and the restaurant. The Australian Hotel and Murgon and the Sandbar + Grill at Casuarina Beach will both see similar strategies put in place,” he added.
