GOODMAN has announced its Goodman Foundation as the exclusive global partner for Cerebral Palsy Alliance’s major fundraising initiative Steptember 2016.
Steptember is an annual 28-day event with teams of four people encouraged to walk 10,000 steps or complete an equivalent activity each day in September to improve and promote health and wellbeing whilst raising funds and awareness of cerebral palsy.
Funds raised will go towards providing vital equipment, therapy and services to children and adults living with cerebral palsy or help fund research into the prevention, treatment and ultimately a cure for cerebral palsy.
More than $20 million has been raised globally since the first Steptember event in 2010, with almost half of the funds coming from Australia. Employees from more than 1,800 organisations are expected to participate in 2016, with a goal of raising $5 million set.
The Foundation’s partnership with the Cerebral Palsy Alliance is being promoted as “Count Us In”, and will encourage Goodman’s employees and business partners, including customers, agents and suppliers to have an involvement, with a number of events and activities also planned in the lead up to the event for support awareness, recruitments and fundraising.
