BUILDING materials supplier Brickworks has bought Smart State Blocks, a substantial producer of concrete masonry based in South East Queensland.
Smart State Blocks is located in Yatala, approximately 30kms north of the Gold Coast and 40kms south of Brisbane. The business consists of two concrete block production lines, one of which is a brand new plant that was commissioned during mid-2007 with a total capacity of around 100,000 tonnes per annum.
Brickworks paid $11 million and the transaction will be completed during July 2008.
