CBRE goes tres chic

CB Richard Ellis is taking on the boutique agencies in Melbourne by setting up shop on chic Chapel Street.

The new CBRE South Yarra office is managed Andrew Dawkins.

Dawkins said Melbourne’s inner suburbs of Richmond, South Yarra, Phahran and St Kilda Road have long been dominated boutique agencies.

He added that CBRE’s new office will tackle the boutique agencies Teska Carsons; TBM; Gorman Kelly and Gross Waddell in the area.

Dawkins said CBRE will be the first and only major agency to setup shop in Melbourne’s famed Chapel Street.

He added that major agencies service the CBD with a city office and Melbourne’s outer suburbs with a Mulgrave office, which approximately 26 kilometres from the CBD. Yet in Melbourne’s CBD fringe, where most affluent suburbs are located, there is no presence.

“The new office will service the Melbourne CBD fringe, where there has long been a void,” Dawkins.

The new CBRE South Yarra office will have a team of 16 in sales and investments, leasing and valuation.
