PROPERTY funds management giant Charter Hall has appointed experienced non-executive director and audit and risk committee chair Karen Penrose as an independent non-executive director, beginning from the start of next month.
Penrose has had an extensive executive career in leadership and CFO roles primarily in financial services. This includes 20-years in banking with CBA and HSBC, and 8 years as a listed-company CFO.
She has been a full-time director and chair of audit and risk committees since 2014, with experience across a range of sectors including property, health, infrastructure, financial services, resources and energy.
Penrose is currently a non-executive director of Ramsay Health Care Limited, Bank of Queensland and Cochlear, and recently served a three-year stint on the Rugby Australia board.
“Karen’s executive career and subsequent non-executive director roles across multiple sectors make her a welcome addition to the board,” said Charter Hall Chair, David Clarke.
“As I come to my retirement as chair, I am confident that Karen and my fellow directors have the right mix of skills and experience to manage Charter Hall for the creation of sustainable returns for our securityholders and capital partners.”
