The residential property auctions market picked up last Saturday, bouncing back from a below par performance a week earlier, according to the latest Home Price Guide from the Australian Property Monitors.
The latest Home Price Guide show that while the number of home auction listings and sales jumped back last Saturday, the market did not meet the level recorded the same period 12 months ago.
In addition, the residential auction results shows only Sydney and Melbourne managed to bounce back last Saturday.
Adelaide and Brisbane recorded a mix performance, with higher listings and lower sales in Adelaide and lower listings but higher sales in Brisbane.
Last Saturday in Sydney, 225 properties were auction of which 109 were sold resulting in auction clearance rate of 54.8%.
The total value of properties sold was $74.7 million.
In Melbourne, 667 properties were marketed for auctioned of which 219 were sold, resulting in auction clearance rate of 62%.
The total vale of properties sold was $87.3 million.
In Adelaide, 50 properties went under the hammer and 15 were sold, resulting in auction clearance rate of 53.6%.
The total value of properties sold was $6.8 million.
In Brisbane, 41 properties were listed for auction of which 15 were sold, resulting in auction clearance rate of 53.5%.
The total value of properties sold in Brisbane was $7.7 million.
The most expensive property sold nationwide was a 3 bedroom house in Birchgrove, Sydney by Helen Rowland Real Estate for $3.5 million.
The cheapest property sold was a land dwelling in Rye, Melbourne for $142,500.
