INVESTMENT consulting firm JANA has bolstered its property research team with the appointment of Alastair McIntosh as a consultant.
JANA is a subsidiary of the National Australia Bank and advises clients on direct property assets and unlisted pooled funds, as well as manage its own platform, which includes the JANA Unlisted Property Unit, the JANA Australian Property and JANA Global Property Trusts.
McIntosh joins from Federation Centres, where he spent eight years as a fund manager responsible for a $900 million portfolio of nine Australian and US unlisted property funds. His role included working on property transactions, developing asset leasing and development strategies, undertaking asset valuations, debt financing and financial risk management.
Prior to this, he was a project manager for Carson Group, now part of Coffey International Group, and a project engineer for PDF engineering and project management group.
He has a Bachelor of Engineering and Bachelor of Science from University of Melbourne, and a Masters in Applied Finance from Macquarie University.
“Alastair brings a deep understanding of the property industry having worked as an engineer, project manager, asset manager and portfolio manager,” JANA’s head of investment research and outcomes Steven Carew said. “Increasingly, clients are seeking to increase allocations to quality property assets and we’re delighted to increase our research resources in this asset class,” he added. McIntosh will work with JANA’s co-heads of property research, Mary Power and Rhonda Spagnol, and the other members of JANA’s property research team.
