Knight Frank has appointed Adam Fairfax as partner, institutional capital, as part of its strategy to grow its capital and strategic advisory team.
Fairfax has 30 years’ experience in commercial real estate, primarily the A-REIT sector as equity analyst, portfolio manager, and in specialist sales including IPOs, and with equity and debt funding.
He joins Knight Frank from JP Morgan Australian Equities, where he worked for the past 21 years.
In his new role he will work with institutional real estate capital partners in Australia and overseas to attract investment in commercial real estate through Knight Frank and its partners.
Fairfax will work alongside Michael Kwok, who was recently appointed as partner, head of capital and strategic advisory in ANZ.
Knight Frank CEO James Patterson said, “With the rapid growth in and consolidation of global capital sources in commercial real estate, this investment in our capital and strategic advisory business comes at an opportune time.”
“Our team has a wealth of knowledge and expertise covering the full gamut, with a collective 55 years’ of experience in commercial property and extensive relationships, with both having strong reputations and connections in the marketplace.”
Kwok said, “Adam has a strong core understanding of capital flows and the cost of money, which are the fundamental drivers of institutional investment capital allocation decisions, and this data-driven approach will be of huge benefit to our clients and service lines.”
Fairfax said, “I wanted to return to my roots as a property valuer to leverage my institutional relationships and finance skills,” he said.
“Knight Frank has a strong reputation with a rich global history across multiple disciplines, and I’m very excited about what we can achieve as a growing and increasingly sophisticated team of diverse backgrounds.”
