COLLIERS has appointed James Cowan as head of NSW to its investment services team.
Cowan will remain at its Sydney CBD office. He has been an executive in the same team since joining the firm in 2017, and has risen to the role of national director, managing both the Sydney and North Sydney teams. With his new appointment as head of NSW, he will extend his management to include the Sydney West and South-West teams.
Within his role he is also the NSW team leader of the restructuring property services (RPS) initiative, which is dedicated to complex workout solutions. This unlocked more than $500 million of asset realisation throughout 2023, Colliers said.
“We are delighted to have promoted James into his well-deserved position as Head of New South Wales of the Investment Services team. This crucial appointment aligns with our overall strategy for growth and our commitment to further developing and investing in our experts,” managing director of investment services Australia, Matthew Meynell said.
“James has done a great job leading the Sydney and North Sydney teams, as well as our RPS initiative. This promotion will enable us to expand our restructuring work into western Sydney, integrate our services, and firmly strengthen our presence.”
Cowan said, “I’m absolutely thrilled to have been promoted to the role of head of NSW, investment services.”
“I’m eager to build momentum and drive further growth in our New South Wales teams alongside our local leaders: John McCann, Jordan McConnell, Nick Estephen, Thomas Mosca, and Tom Appleby.”
