AVID Property Group is furthering its presence in the growing land lease sector, with construction now underway on a community at a 23-hectare site Hervey Bay.
The new community, Vantage Hervey Bay, will provide 300 brand-new homes for over 55s and amenities in the heart of the Fraser Coast. It is the first project in the region for Avid, which has 37 developments located in growth areas across the eastern seaboard.
Construction kicked off with a sod-turning ceremony attended by Fraser Coast Division Eight Councillor Denis Chapman, Avid general manager land lease Communities Manuel Lang, Avid general manager Queensland Anthony Demiris, as well as its build team from Villaworld Homes by Avid.
Lang said Hervey Bay was a natural choice for one of its first land lease communities because of the idyllic coastal location and market demand.
“With more than three hectares of green space and a range of community facilities – like a clubhouse, pool, tennis courts, gym and a bowling green – the new community has been carefully designed to provide residents with a sense of freedom, convenience and security,” Lang said.
A sales and information centre will open soon at Kawungan.
Demiris said the Fraser Coast is experiencing strong buyer demand from over 55s.
“Hervey Bay has become a hotspot for downsizers and retirees in recent years, which is no surprise given its beautiful coastal location only 300 kilometres north of Brisbane.”
Under the land lease model, Vantage Hervey Bay homeowners will live in a manufactured home and pay a weekly site fee to cover management and maintenance of the community, access to all amenities and local council rates.
