QUEENSLAND developer KDL Property Group has launched its sixth housing project in the Logan region, with construction soon to begin on a $42 million, 118-lot housing estate.
Aldeia is located across 9.2 hectares at 675 Logan Reserve Road in Logan Reserve, neighbouring KDL’s Rosebank project, where 272 housing lots set among parkland adjacent to the Logan River at Logan Reserve have already sold out.
Aldeia lots will range from 417 sqm to 712 sqm.
The Aldeia site is beside a proposed new state government secondary school, on land recently acquired by the Queensland government.
“This new estate balances modern living with rural simplicity and is close to essential services, schools and shopping centres, with public transport and major arterial roads providing easy access to Logan Central and the Brisbane CBD,” said KDL managing director, Kent Leicester.
KDL’s developments in the Logan region also include Montana at Logan Reserve, Sierra and Nevada in Park Ridge, Waterford Heights at Waterford West and Elridge at Jimboomba.
The group is also active on Brisbane’s northside and is on track to deliver more than 1,100 new home sites in the Greater Brisbane area in the next three years.
Its pipeline includes three new estates in Moreton Bay’s Burpengary East, Joyner and Waraba, to go with its Logan projects that include the 157-lot Elridge in Jimboomba.
“Providing more potential for the community in terms of housing is incredibly motivating for us at KDL. We continue to be focused on restocking our pipeline for future growth in the coming years,” Leicester said.
Analysis from demographic and urban planning experts Informed Decision (Id) found a massive 86,000 more homes will be needed across Greater Brisbane over the next six years to house the region’s population boom.
Id said the biggest demand would come from a wide ring located 20 to 40 kilometres from the Brisbane CBD, where the population was expected to boom by 127,000 people by 2029.
Construction of Aldeia is scheduled to commence in May, with lots due to register in the first stage from April next year.
