AJC Architects has appointed two new studio directors in Kelly Green and John Gunnell.
Green joined AJC as a studio lead in 2022 and brought more than two decades of experience across both the UK and Australia, having led progressive placemaking, cultural, university, and social housing project for 17 years.
Green has worked with social housing providers including Notting Hill Genesis, Clarion, and Peabody. Green has managed projects from design and capacity studies to project delivery.
“I’m thrilled with this appointment. Kelly has developed excellent relationships with clients and project partners, built a great team and transformed her domain at AJC through her keen design intelligence and a pragmatic consensus-driven approach to achieving project objectives.” said Brian Mariotti, director at AJC.
Gunnell brings local and international experience across various sectors to the new position, including residential, commercial, public/education, and specialty sports and leisure design.
Gunnell has led and delivered award-winning projects include Milson Island Indoor Stadium, Abbotsleigh Multipurpose Hall and Sports Field, and the John Phillips Library and Kingswood Campus in Western Sydney.
He is also currently involved in the master planning, design, and construction of multiple commercial, multi-residential, and community facilities for a new town centre near the Aerotropolis in Western Sydney.
“A Renaissance architect, who understands the entire design and delivery process, and has been the hand behind some of AJC‘s most successful projects,” said Michael Heenan, CEO and director at AJC.
“The reliance on John’s deep and, intimate knowledge of how buildings go together and how this informs the whole design process has been a backbone of the quality of AJC.”
