DEVELOPER and builder TOGA has commenced construction on Australia’s first four-storey industrial development, MADE Marrickville.
Delivered in partnership with Braxton and Rebel Group, MADE Marrickville is located at 18-30 Faversham Street and will span a total of 3,416sqm, comprising 34 creative industrial workspaces, 24 drive-up storage units and 1,360sqm of ground floor retail.
“MADE Marrickville is a practical response to Sydney’s growing demand for industrial and business spaces,” said Allan Vidor, managing director at TOGA.
“This project reflects TOGA’s commitment to smart, community-focused projects: creating spaces where businesses can grow, while also fostering areas where people can work, live, and connect.”
Units at the development are priced between $700,000 and just over $2 million, with sizes ranging from 71sqm to 230sqm.
“MADE Marrickville presents local businesses with affordable, innovative industrial spaces in Sydney’s vibrant inner west,” said Luke Smith, from Raine & Horne Commercial.
Sydney has seen an addition of 850,000sqm in industrial space, accounting for 15% of the new supply.
“Its closeness to the CBD and Marrickville’s unique character, coupled with Wicks Place, makes this development a prime spot for entrepreneurs, reshaping not just Marrickville, but Sydney’s broader commercial landscape,” added Smith.
While MADE Marrickville’s retail component will blend into newly completed adjacent residential development Wicks Place by TOGA.
The retail space will feature dual-level layouts, individual parking on the same level, secure 24/7 access, sustainable design, and a variety of unit sizes.
“The shift away from the city for workplaces is apparent. For us, being closer to where we live is pivotal,” said James Brown, co-founder at Double Roasters.
“Marrickville’s central location works for staff from all over Sydney, and MADE Marrickville, with its flexible units and proximity to various retail offerings is perfect for our business’ needs.”
The $30 Million development is expected to open in early 2025 and is part of TOGA’s ambitious strategy to transform Sydney’s suburbs, which includes other high-profile projects like Surry Hills Village and Oxford & Foley.
