PROPERTY development expert Ken Munro has been appointed as general manager of Oreana, as the diversified property development business looks to grow its $2.5 billion portfolio.
Munro has been a project manager since the late 1990s and boasts experience across a range of sectors, from affordable housing and hospitals to apartments and contaminated sites.
Munro has held executive roles with Development Victoria and several of Australia’s leading private and publicly listed developers including MAB Corporation, Australand, Dennis Family Corporation and Dahua Group Australia.
“Ken is a highly respected stalwart of the industry and Oreana is buoyed by his decision to join us. His deep knowledge, breadth of experience and interest in developing talent makes him the perfect fit for our business and our vision,” said Tony Sass, managing director at Oreana Group.
“His appointment is part of Oreana’s ongoing mission to attract the best people who share our focus on innovation, quality and execution. Ken understands Oreana’s commitment to its people and the communities in which we work and shares our dream of creating positive, lasting legacies wherever we develop.”
Munro volunteers as a course facilitator for UDIA’s property development program, is a member of the National Committee of the Property Council Academy, a mentor for the Australian Property Council and a UDIA Victoria judge.
“Oreana is a company for the future. It’s an agile group with a good balance sheet and a strategic plan that innovates, adapts and nurtures diverse talent,” said Munro.
“With city shaping projects across a diverse portfolio from South Yarra to Melbourne’s greenfield growth corridors and interstate, I will be working with the team to deliver the pipeline and, at the right time, restock it.”
Oreana Property currently boasts a pipeline of more than 3,000 homes across residential lots, house-and-land packages, townhomes, apartments and mixed-use projects, in addition to alongside 17 town centres in Victoria and Western Australia.
