GLOBAL hotelier Marriott International has linked up with Pelligra Group and Giannarelli Group to deliver a third Ritz-Carlton hotel to Australia – on the Gold Coast by 2026.
The Australian property developers have announced an agreement today that plans for Australia’s third instalment of the iconic Ritz. The new hotel is earmarked to play a major part in a new waterfront development on the Gold Coast, at Mariner’s Cove which is expected to cost $480 million.
The Ritz-Carlton will be situation in the heart of Mariner’s cove at the northern end of the Gold Coast. It’ll act as the gateway to some of the GC’s most popular tourist attractions including the glorious beaches they have to offer, as well as a series of waterfront restaurants and bars. The hotel is expected to feature 150 guest rooms and suites and a 275-square-meter Ritz-Carlton Suite is also planned to be included.
The Ritz-Carlton is expected to offer the world-class service and facilities it is globally renowned for, while it shapes to be a place not just for comfort and relaxation but also for business. 587 metres of function space have been called for – including a 512 sqm ballroom. The Ritz-Carlton will also be home to a main restaurant, three bars, a fitness centre, rooftop pool and a spa to add a leisurely experience for all guests.
Vice president of hotel development, Australia, New Zealand and Pacific at Marriott International Richard Crawford states that this will set Gold Coast apart from other waterfront rivals.
“Marriott International is recognized as the global leader in the upper upscale and luxury segments. Today’s signing with Pelligra Group and Giannarelli Group is a profound indication of strong investor confidence, buoyed by a resurgent affluent domestic travel market,” said Crawford.
“Once opened, the resort expects to set a new benchmark for luxury on Australia’s Gold Coast with the property’s enviable waterfront location,” he added.
Pelligra Group’s chairman Ross Pelligra is thrilled to combine with Marriott International to develop the Gold Coast with the new hotel.
“We are exceptionally excited to embark on this journey with Marriott International to bring The Ritz-Carlton brand to the Gold Coast. A luxury hotel development like this will draw in more tourism spending from across the globe and fuel the local economy.
“The Ritz-Carlton, Gold Coast is set to be an iconic landmark not only for the Gold Coast, but for Australia’s hospitality sector,” he said.
