THE Property Council’s Victorian division has found an executive director for the next six months, with experienced legal executive and board director Cath Evans taking up the role just over a month after her predecessor left in controversial circumstances.
Danni Hunter left the post at the beginning of August after she allegedly made racially insensitive remarks at an industry awards night in June.
Property Council CEO Ken Morrison said Evans’ appointment as interim Victorian executive director will enable the Property Council to continue its advocacy role through the important state election period, while recruitment for a permanent executive director occurs.
Evans has had a substantive career through the legal sector where she has held roles at CEO and COO levels in large law firms.
Victorian president Sam Tarascio said it was pleasing to be able to have someone of her experience leading the team for this period.
“The election period is an important time for the industry and our state, and the Property Council’s advocacy has a vital role to play.
“Cath will be getting off to a flying start this week as we meet with the Premier, host the opposition leader soon afterwards and engage with other key policy stakeholders.”
Members will have the opportunity to meet Evans at the lobby group’s Grand Final lunch on Friday and other events in the coming weeks.
Morrison thanked Adina Cirson for leading the Victorian division over the past five weeks.
