ARCHITECTURE and design studio Architectus has appointed interior designer Troy King as a new principal at its Brisbane studio.
King will bring his expertise in interior design for contemporary education and research spaces at universities, with major award winning projects including the Birch Building at ANU, the Creative Industries Precinct at QUT, and the Advanced Engineering Building at UQ.
King was most recently working as senior associate at global practice Hassell’s Brisbane office, where he was a key player in the briefing, design, and delivery of complex, multi-disciplinary projects
King has also delivered many projects as a Green Star accredited designer, such as UQ’s Global Change Institute, which was one of the first buildings in the country to target net zero.
The future of work relies on a deep understanding of workplace and learning environments. Troy has extensive expertise in both typologies, creating innovative spaces at the intersection of both worlds,” said Ray Brown, CEO at Architectus.
King will join the Architectus’ interior architecture team as at 29 August.
“I’m looking forward to working with the focused, committed national team at Architectus, in a city I know and love. It’s an exciting time for design in Brisbane,” said King.
