LIFE fellow and former national president of the Australian Property Institute, and current Preston Rowe Paterson chairman Greg Preston has been awarded Queen’s Birthday honours.
Preston has been made a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) for his “significant service to the property valuation industry”.
Preston has been chair and managing director of Preston Rowe Paterson since 1988. Prior to that, he was investment agency advisor at Richard Stanton and a valuer, investment agent and auctioneer at Colliers after starting as a property and asset manager at Knight Frank.
He became an API member in 1984 and a fellow in 1995, before serving as national NSW divisional councillor in 2001, state president in 2003 and 2004, and as a national councillor from 2003 to 2010 and national president in 2007 and 2008.
He has also been a member of the API’s structural and governance committee and the Australian Valuation Standards Board, chair of the national finance board, professional indemnity insurance sub-committee and national professional board.
He was awarded the API’s Colonel Clifford Catt Award in 2018 and the Meritorious Service Awards in 2002.
At the Property Funds Association, Preston is the current chair of the communications committee and was chair of the events committee.
Preston a current guest lecturer at the University of Technology Sydney and a current member of its School Built Environment Industry Advisory Panel.
