AUSTRALIA’S largest pure play last mile logistics manager, Urban Logistics Co. has appointed a new CEO in Narelle Checchin.
Checchin joins the NashCap and BlackRock Real Assets-backed Urban Logistics Co. from Mirvac, where she headed up the retail development business and managed external communications and investor relations as a senior executive.
“We are delighted that Narelle will lead the continued growth and development of the Urban Logistics Co. portfolio. As CEO, Narelle will be responsible for the portfolio’s continued repositioning and development strategy as we continue to benefit from the significant growth and demand in last mile logistics assets in Australia’s gateway cities,” said Fabian Nager, director of NashCap.
Checchin brings with her more than 20 years of experience in the property industry, working across office, industrial, retail and residential sectors, including her time at Australand Property Group—now Frasers Property— where she worked in design, development and investor relations within its industrial business.
“There is a significant opportunity in the Australian market for businesses to improve on customer expectations for delivery and service,” said Checchin.
Established in 2019, Urban Logistics Co. currently boasts a portfolio with an end value in excess of $1 billion, across 27 separate warehouse assets equally weighted to Sydney and Melbourne, with 45 unique tenants.
Urban Logistics Co. is targeting a portfolio of $2 billion in the next five-years, through a strategy of acquisitions and development of existing portfolio landbank.
“I look forward to guiding Urban Logistics Co in its focus to help businesses grow by providing them with unmatched connections to their customers,” concluded Checchin.
