KNIGHT Frank is set to open a Gold Coast office in Surfers Paradise this month, as the group begins expansion plans across Queensland in anticipation of the 2032 Olympics.
The office, to be located at Level 5/64 Ferny Avenue will be led by George Parzis and Abel Erasmus, who are joining Knight Frank from NAI Harcourts.
“George and Abel having many decades of experience in the real estate industry, across both sales, leasing and AMS, so they were an ideal fit to expand our business. The duo will service our existing clients right across the board, as well as appealing to new clients,” said James Patterson, CEO and partner at Knight Frank.
Parzis and Erasmus have a combined 40 years of experience, working in the industry since 2000.
“With Knight Frank being a major well-known national brand for commercial real estate we will cover all facets of the commercial market. Our AMS portfolio has seen tremendous growth over the past three years, and further expansion will be made possible by the Knight Frank brand,” said Parzis.
Parzis has a focus on sales and leasing, with a specialty in selling large inner city industrial parcels for redevelopment, running commercial agencies in both Melbourne and the Gold Coast, such as Property One Commercial, Harcourts Broadwater and NAI Harcourts.
“The commercial market on the Gold Coast has been experiencing strong demand in recent years, particularly in the industrial sector, with mixed-use development sites also high on the radar for buyers,” added Parzis.
Erasmus has a background in asset management services, having formerly acted as CEO of an unlisted property investment fund in South Africa, before moving to Australia in 2017 and managing a diverse group of assets across the Gold Coast, as part owner of NAI Harcourts Gold Coast.
“We see many growth opportunities in the Sunshine State. Queensland is a focus for many investors looking to capitalise on the transformation taking place in Brisbane and other parts of South East Queensland, and our clients will value our expanding presence in the state,” said Scott Timbrell, national head of franchise at Knight Frank.
The new office will begin with 10 people in its team, before expanding, working across the office, industrial and retail markets in sales, leasing and asset management services.
“With the Gold Coast set to host Olympic events it will benefit from associated infrastructure, as well as ongoing strong population growth, which is why it is a key growth area for our business,” concluded Patterson.
After growing occupier strategy and solutions team with two new appointments, Knight Frank has recently made a move towards reaching its net zero goals in appointing a national head of ESG in Jenine Cranston.
