GROWTHBUILT has now commenced construction on Lumia, the latest offering from Sekisui House’s $1 billion masterplanned community in Norwest, The Orchards.
The Lumia will be comprised of 330 apartments in Greater Western Sydney, sitting around 35km north west of the Sydney CBD and marking the third of seven planned stages in The Orchards.
The sales campaign for the first phase release of 203 apartments, including 71 one-bedroom, 118 two-bedroom, 13 three-bedroom and one four-bedroom pent house, has already been launched, with more than 65% currently sold.
Upon its completion The Orchards will span 1300 Turner Architects-designed apartments over 8.1-hectares, with buildings between six and 13 storeys.
Lumia is the second project in the community Sekisui House has appointed Growthbuilt to deliver, having already begun works on stage two, Aire.
“The team continues to work closely with us on our shared vision for The Orchards and is set to deliver an excellent outcome for Lumia,” said George Gesouras, project director at Sekisui House Australia.
The construction phase of the project is set to create over 800 jobs, both directly and indirectly, stimulating the state’s economy.
“Growthbuilt is committed to design, innovation, leading construction techniques and access to the best people in the industry, which has enabled us to add genuine value to Sekisui House’s premium property portfolio,” said Colin Rahim, joint CEO and director at Growthbuilt.
“Understanding Sekisui House’s vision has been key to our relationship. As a builder, we focus on producing high-quality built form that last for generations.”
Like the community at large, the Lumia will place an emphasis on sustainability, with solar power and an efficient hot water plant forming an advanced energy generation system.
“Lumia is surrounded by natural assets – large trees, linear park and waterways. Importantly, Turner has embraced the symbiotic relationship with nature in their design to ensure each resident can experience these natural assets as part of their everyday living,” said Hide Seguchi, CEO and managing director at Sekisui House Australia.
The apartments will include large format windows and oversized balconies to take advantage of these green surroundings, in addition to oversized kitchens, ample storage space, study alcoves and max rooms. While living and sleeping areas will be separated, to create quiet and active zones.
Resident amenities will include an outdoor pool and a pavilion, which will include communal and more private dining and lounge areas. Meanwhile The Orchards as a community will offer cycling and walking paths, a 1.4-hectare public park, playgrounds, break-out green spaces, an outdoor lagoon-style pool, inside heated pool and fitness centre.
Sekisui House is bringing forward the release of phase two of Lumia, after witnessing strong demand in the first launch.
“When it comes to buying a property in the current economic climate, home purchasers need future certainty. We have found that Lumia buyers are confident in buying from a global developer established since 1960, delivering over 2.5 million homes around the world,” said David Lee, sales manager of developments and communities, The Orchards.
