NICHOLAS Kinsey has been appointed to the role of Asia Pacific head of logistics at Savills Investment Management, a new position for the real estate investment manager.
Kinsey will utilise his 18 years of experience in the logistics sector, having engages in real estate activity across Australia, the US and 16 countries in Asia.
“We are delighted to welcome a professional with Nick’s skillset and experience of both logistics and real estate to Savills IM. Supported by our successful logistics team in Europe, we seek to build a substantial franchise here in Asia Pacific,” said Michael Flynn, global co-head client capital at Savills IM.
Kinsey is leaving his position of sub-regional head at DHL Supply Chain, APAC, having previously worked with CEVA Logistics and Goodman Group.
“It is great to join the team at Savills IM and I very much look forward to working with my colleagues globally in order to build a successful logistics business in Asia Pacific,” said Kinsey.
Kinsey will be based in Bangkok and will head up the advancement of Savills IM’s logistics capabilities across the Asia Pacific region.
“Activity in the Asia Pacific logistics real estate market has grown from US$13 billion to over US$45 billion in the past decade, with close to 75% of that in only four markets in 2021. Therefore, we believe there is huge opportunity and growth to come in those and other markets, driven by growing e-commerce penetration, the demands of supply chain technology and investor appetite for the sector,” added Kinsey.
Currently Savills IM is a leading investor in the European logistics sector, with US$5 billion of assets under management, a good sum of their US$28.9 billion total global assets under management.
