JOHN Williams is stepping down as JLL Western Australia’s managing director after more than a decade, with Angelo Amara taking his place at the helm.
Williams will finish up in the position at the years end, though he will continue to head up JLL’s WA capital markets business.
“John’s leadership of our WA business has been outstanding after leading our Capital Markets business for many years prior. His desire to return to a full time Capital Markets leadership role is well supported and he will continue to make a highly valued contribution on behalf of many clients,” said Stephen Conry, CEO of JLL, Australia.
“The WA business has experienced significant growth in revenues in the last 10 years and proven to be highly resilient through the various property cycles. After 11 years and with the recent move to our new offices it is the right time to hand over and provide the opportunity to someone with the talent of Angelo Amara,” said Williams.
Amara will, on top of his new role, carry on in a leadership position at JLL’s WA property management business where he leads a team of fifty.
“Angelo’s experience through leading our management of commercial properties in Perth on behalf of our many valued clients puts him in an ideal position to lead our business,” said Conry.
Amara has 13 years of experience in the property industry, with five years in senior roles at JLL.
“The WA business is fortunate having a very successful, stable and highly regarded leadership team with an average of 15 years’ service to the firm. Angelo Amara as Managing Director will be well supported by the leadership team including John as the new head of our Capital Markets business,” concluded Conry.
Recent appointments at JLL have included Greg Pike and Matt Lee to its national industrial and logistics team, Luke Dutton as senior director of tenant representation, New South Wales and Peter Blade as national head of logistics and industrial.
