SAVILLS Asia Pacific has appointed Jack Harkness to the role of director for regional industrial and logistics services.
Harkness, who will be based in Singapore, joins Savills from JLL Indonesia where he worked in the role of APAC director of logistics and industrial.
Harkness is his new position will work across key markets in Asia, advising tenants, landlords and investors on e-commerce, consumer packaged goods, data centres and cross-border capital and leasing transactions.
“With demand for cold storage, warehousing and data centres at record levels across the region, I am confident that we will continue to offer a best-in-class service to our clients in Asia as the sector rapidly expands,” said Harkness.
In his new position, Harkness will use his experience at JLL where he advised online retailers, data centres, MNCs and 3PLs on expanding their real estate portfolios regionally.
“Jack’s strong track record across Southeast Asia and deep understanding of local market dynamics will undoubtedly be of great value to our clients,” said Martin Fidden, regional managing director of professional services at Savills, Asia.
Harkness, who began his career at Savills in 2012, is also a member of RICS and a graduate of Leeds University and Cass Business School.
“Together with his extensive knowledge of BTS warehousing and data centres, Jack is well-positioned to assist our digital and e-commerce clients as they continue to execute regional expansion strategies,” said Fidden.
Harkness’ appointment to Savills closely follows the group’s acquisition of an interest in Southeast Asian supply chain consulting specialist, LCA.

The appointment follows Savills Australia’s recent promotion of Joe Phegan to managing director of its Victorian operations, in addition to his current role as national head of valuation and advisory.
