KNIGHT Frank’s Queensland office will be headed up by property veteran Dominic Long, who is moving from Melbourne to take on the role in the sunshine state in the coming weeks.
Long has nearly 40 years of experience in property, having previously worked at Cushman & Wakefield as managing director of commercial real estate in Victoria, where he more than quadrupled the business revenue in three years.
Prior to that, he spent 15 years at Savills, including 12 years as the managing director of the Victorian office, and nearly 20 years at Hardwicke Property Group, Ireland’s largest privately-owned property developer.
Long will replace Shaun Witherow, who is pursuing his passion and returning to asset management services (AMS) in a national role as partner, national client solutions, AMS for Knight Frank.
Knight Frank CEO James Patterson said Dominic was highly regarded in the industry, and would be a strong leader for the Queensland office.
“With his extensive experience, Dominic already has a solid professional and personal network in Brisbane, including long-standing relationships with clients including major institutions and superfunds with extensive holdings in Queensland,” he said.
“Not only does he have strong contacts, but Dominic has a wealth of knowledge and expertise both in the commercial property market and in leading teams to success, and as such, will be a huge asset to our business.”
Long said, “I look forward to being part of the imminent growth and development of Brisbane, and leading our Queensland office to success, while ensuring our clients receive the best possible service.”
