FORMER head of retail for Mirvac, Susan MacDonald will assist Mainbrace Constructions board as a strategic advisor.
MacDonald has worked in leadership positions at Lendlease and AMP Shopping Centres, as well as at the Shopping Centre Council of Australia as joint deputy chair.
Most recently MacDonald served as the head of retail at Mirvac, leading one of Australia’s most successful large-scale retail businesses.
“As a retail real estate professional, Susan’s experience is industry-leading, and to be able to tap into the expertise and knowledge of someone of her retail standing and reputation is a major advantage for us and our clients,” said Rob Doust, managing director of Mainbrace.
Mainbrace is one of the country’s leading retain construction companies, having delivered over 1,500 projects at a combined value of more than $4 billion since it was established in 1989.
With offices in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, Mainbrace has completed high profile projects such as the Narellan Town Centre in Western Sydney, Tamanto Central in Queensland and the $200 million redevelopment of David Jones, Sydney CBD store.
“The Mainbrace point of difference is to work with our clients from the early design stage, drawing on our retail expertise to plan and undertake construction projects in the most time and cost-efficient way. We deliver high-quality outcomes safely, allowing clients to trade throughout works.”
In March, Mainbrace appointed a new ECI manager in John Brunette, while in February they were awarded dual $20 million contracts to redevelop Woolworths’ Emerton Village shopping centre and construct a refrigerated processing plant for Lederer Group in Greenacre.
