CBRE is upgrading its shopping centre management platform, after making three major promotions in its retail asset management team.
“It’s an exciting time for CBRE as we bolster our retail asset management team and demonstrate our commitment to providing market leading retail centre management services,” said Megan Wakefield, regional manager, pacific retail management at CBRE.
Lee Lawler was promoted to state manager of retail property management for Western Australia and South Australia.
Lawler has 16 years of experience in the property industry, both locally and internationally, after coming to CBRE as a property manager at its Perth office in 2008.
Additionally, Guy Washington was promoted to state manager of retail property management for Queensland.
Washington joined CBRE in 2018 as a portfolio manager, following time in the baking and finance industry, working in senior positions at National Australia Bank.
Finally, Candace Kennedy, who joined CBRE as a retail marketing manager in 2018 was promoted to the role of national marketing manager.
Kennedy in their role at the company led over 50 retail project’s marketing strategy’s across the country and was a lead force in creating CBRE’s internal marketing agency for their shopping centre clients and retailers.
“These appointments bring a wealth of commercial property experience and expertise, which will significantly increase our services offering to CBRE’s established client base which has grown significantly this year,” added Wakefield.
CBRE has made a number of appointments and promotions in its teams so far this year, expanding its retail team in May, appointing a new associate director to its capital markets office division, tripling the size of its Adelaide valuations and advisory services team over three months and acquiring Australian infrastructure and development services firm Thelem Consulting, adding 40 team members to its existing project management arm.
