IN a bid to attract workers to the office, Salta Properties is plunging $10 million into upgrading the public realm of its business park in Melbourne’s south east.
The works at The Nexus Business Park in Mulgrave includes three architecturally designed terraces and connecting foyers at 2, 4 and 6 Nexus Court, providing tenants access to the outdoor spaces.
A 1.4 kilometre running track is being installed, as well as a seven-station outdoor gym circuit and two outdoor picnic areas.
Salta Properties managing director, Sam Tarascio, said, “Work culture has changed significantly in Melbourne due to the extensive lockdown in 2020 and employees are now more than ever seeking to work in environments that offer amenities with a focus on health and wellbeing”.
Architect Nik Tabain of Gray Puksand, who is behind the refurbishments, said they address the needs of the 21st century workplace.
“I’ve always believed that architecture must respond to the human condition. Decisions regarding scale and spatial volumes, materiality, permeability, aspect and connection to nature must all be made through the lens of the human experience.”
The upgrades add existing amenities that include three cafés, childcare centre, 24 hour gym and wellness centre, futsal and basketball court, netball and tennis court, plus a BBQ area and landscaped terrace.
