KNIGHT Frank has made four new appointments to its capital markets team in Victoria.
The new appointments are Langton McHarg, as partner and head of investment sales, Stephen Kelly, as director, investment sales, James Thorpe also as director, investment sales and Myles Neville, as senior executive, investment sales.
All four of the new appointments were previously at JLL, with McHarg, Kelly and Thorpe returning to Knight Frank after short intermissions at JLL.
“It is with great pleasure that we welcome back Langton, Stephen and James to the Victorian Capital Markets team,” said James Templeton, partner and head of Victoria at Knight Frank.
McHarg has over 15 years of experience in the industry, with a focus on CBD and fringe office markets and recent sales in excess of $2 billion. McHarg’s track record of building strong performing teams has set him up to lead Knight Frank’s Victorian Investment Sales team.
Kelly began his career as a property valuer, before working for Knight Frank Malaysia in 2013, working for six years in its Capital Markets team, in Melbourne and Malaysia.
Thorpe has almost ten years of experience in the industry, working as a sales consultant and auctioneer before moving to the Knight Frank Capital Markets team in Melbourne, with a concentration on CBD and fringe office markets.
Myles, the only newcomer to the agency, began in the industry in 2018, after completing a bachelor of applied science in property and valuation. At JLL he worked as a campaign transaction manager.
“The expansion of the team aligns with our overall strategy for growth in key and emerging markets to enable us to better service our clients and their assets,” he said.
These hires come after a noted change in Victorian market sentiment, and an increase in activity in the new year.
“With these key hires, the Victorian Capital Markets team will be better enabled to handle the influx of assets coming to market.
“The expansion of our team will ensure we provide full coverage and service within our Victorian business to our valued clients, including privates, SMEs, developers, receivers and liquidators, in addition to our established institutional clients.”
“Our new appointments in Victoria will complement the strong national capital markets team by further bringing depth and experience for the benefit of our clients on a national basis, and strengthen the collaboration across the states,” said Paul Roberts, partner and national head of Capital Markets at Knight Frank.
