FORMER Leighton Holdings chief financial officer Peter Gregg has had his convictions quashed of falsifying the books of the company quashed by the NSW Court of Criminal Appeal.
On 29 August 2019, Gregg was convicted in the NSW District Court of two offences. ASIC had alleged that, as an officer of Leighton, he engaged in conduct that resulted in the falsification of the books of the company.
He was sentenced to a term of imprisonment of 12 months on count one and two years on count two, to be served concurrently by way of an Intensive Correction Order. He appealed against both his conviction and sentence.
The Court of Criminal Appeal quashed the verdicts of guilty and entered a verdict of acquittal on each count.
