NON-bank lender MaxCap has appointed Christine Christian to the board.
Co-founder and managing director Wayne Lasky said Christian brings an extensive 30-year track record together with outstanding experience in financial services.
“We are delighted to have Christine join us as a non executive director and look forward to partnering closely with her as we continue to execute our strategy and realise our vision.
“Christine is recognised in the marketplace as a leading Australian company director and chairperson, investor and entrepreneur. Her sector experience in financial services, private equity, investment and credit risk management in particular perfectly complements the strength of our existing team,” he added.
Christian is currently serving on a number of other high profile boards in both Australia and the United States.
“It is an absolute honour to join the board of MaxCap Group,” Christian said.
“The company has a market leading reputation for creating lasting value for its clients. I am pleased to be involved with MaxCap, their culture is innovative, relationship focused and the business is on an exciting growth trajectory,” she added.
Christine was the first Australian to be appointed managing director of the Dun & Bradstreet (D&B) Australian subsidiary, leading a pioneering management buy-out in 2001 from its parent company. In 2005, she led a private equity secondary buy-out sale to Carnegie Wylie (now Lazard Private Equity). D&B Australia was reacquired by the original US parent for $250 million in 2011.
Her other notable achievements include initiating the Credit Reporting Reform with the federal government to introduce positive credit reporting and responsible lending in Australia. She has also advised the People’s Bank of China on the establishment of a commercially independent consumer credit bureau and small business lending.
She is a former president of Chief Executive Women and founding chairman of the Business Information Industry Association of Hong Kong and the Middle East. Christian holds a Bachelor of Arts and is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
