WESTERN Australia’s land titling, location information and valuation services system, Landgate has appointed Robert Cole as the new chairperson.
Cole is the current chair of Synergy and a lawyer with 35 years’ experience, including 20 years at law firm Mallesons Stephen Jaques.
He is the former chairperson of the Southern Ports Authority and currently on the board of charitable organisation St Bartholomew’s House Inc., and various mining and resource companies.
He replaces outgoing chairperson, Caroline de Mori, who has been a member of the Landgate Board since 2015.
Lands Minister Ben Wyatt, “Rob’s leadership, legal and corporate governance skills will ensure he is able to support Landgate in achieving its statutory and commercial obligations as WA’s land information authority,”
“I would like to acknowledge and thank the outgoing chairperson, Caroline de Mori, for her contribution to Landgate over the past five years.
“Caroline played an important leadership role in pursuing Landgate’s digital transformation strategy and supporting the agency through the partial commercialisation of its automated land titling functions and related asset divestments. This resulted in a combined $1.6 billion return to the state last year. Caroline’s business acumen and strategic engagement expertise has been highly valued and I wish her well for her future endeavours.” Wyatt said.
