MULTIPLEX has a major milestone on QIC’s $800 million mixed-use project at 80 Collins St in Melbourne’s CBD, topping out South Tower.
The new 41-level office building is part of the dual-tower 80 Collins St precinct, which is owned by Dexus and Dexus Wholesale Property Fund.
Multiplex regional managing director Graham Cottam said at 216 metres tall, 80 Collins boasts panoramic views across Melbourne.
“This premiere mixed-use development heralds a new chapter in the story of its prestigious location, and we’re delighted to see 80 Collins reach its highest point.
“80 Collins is also one of the most complex builds we are currently delivering in Melbourne, with the new South Tower constructed to cantilever 12 metres over existing buildings on Collins St – the first time the engineering feat has been achieved to this scale,” he added.
The new South Tower has a 6-star Green Star design rating and is targeting a 5 star NABERS Energy rating. 80 Collins is on track for completion in 2020.
