CONSTRUCTION has kicked off on Epiq Marketplace, Lennox Head’s first neighbourhood shopping village, within Clarence Property’s Epiq community in the northern rivers region of New South Wales.
Expected to open in 2019, Epiq Marketplace will feature a full-line Woolworths and 19 specialty retailers, with a BWS, medical centre, chemist and gym operator already signed up.
Hutchinson Builders have been awarded the construction contract.
Clarence Property managing director Peter Fahey said Epiq Marketplace is an important piece of infrastructure that will provide significant amenity for the people of Lennox Head, where another 3,000 people are expected move to over the next decade.
More than half of the 500 sites in the community now sold.
“Once this new shopping village is complete, locals will no longer have to travel to Ballina to access a full-line supermarket, and they will have more opportunity to support local businesses through our specialty retailers.”
Epiq Marketplace is also expected to support over 230 new jobs for locals once finished.
A new Harmony Early Learning Childcare Centre is expected to open close by early next year.
Epiq Marketplace is being marketed by Cody Buck and Andrew Watson of CBRE, and Chris Harley of North Coast Commercial. Available tenancies available range from 28 sqm to 240 sqm.
“We have our key retailers locked in, and are now looking for specialty operators to join our centre – particularly a hairdresser, baker, butcher, newsagent, vet and cafe operators.” Buck said.
The centre is located on the corner of Hutley Dr and Snapper Dr.
