JOINT venture partners Vicinity Centres and Perron Group have unveiled the new fashion and lifestyle precinct at The Glen, with the launch of stage three of the $460 million redevelopment.
Vicinity Centres CEO Grant Kelley and Perron Group CEO Ross Robertson together unveiled the 13,500 sqm precinct houses more than 80 new stores including international brands UNIQLO and H&M.
“We are thrilled to see the third stage of the centre’s transformation come to life. The new fashion and lifestyle mall brings together international icons with much-loved Australian retailers in a brand new, contemporary space,” Kelley said.
“The new fashion and lifestyle mall will provide Melbourne’s south east and The Glen’s local community with a new, highly curated and more convenient shopping experience that will better meet our customers’ growing needs.” Robertson added.
Vicinity partnered with NH Architects and MTRDC interior designers for the project.
Anchored by a 2,500 sqm H&M and a 1,200 sqm UNIQLO, the new precinct features a new format Target store, the return of local favourite Arena Café in a contemporary new fit-out, a new format Robinsons Bookshop incorporating a café and wine bar, and the arrival of ‘Play along the way’ children’s play zones.
Other retailers include Bonds, Mocha, Matchbox and Howards Storage World, Sportsgirl, Lorna Jane, Peter Jackson and Pandora, as well as Adairs, Bed Bath N’ Table, Artisan Home, Dusk and Wittner, a new Biba Hairdressing salon, M&Y Salon, The Beauty & Brow Parlour, Endota Spa, Julex Nail Bar with cult cosmetic brand Mecca arriving later this year.
The Glen is one of Vicinity Centres’ first forays into realising the mixed-use potential of its landholdings, with the sale of the air rights above The Glen to Golden Age to build apartments.
