CONSTRUCTION has started on Dexus’ 12-level Brisbane CBD office building The Annex, within the Golden Triangle precinct.
Designed by BVN, the building will feature a rooftop sky terrace, and 7,200 sqm of office space with average 625 sqm floor plates.
Dexus is targeting smaller businesses, with flexible workspaces throughout the building and interconnecting stairs that link each level.
“The provision of abundant natural light, fresh airflow and green spaces provide tangible wellbeing benefits,” it said.
It is targeting a minimum 4.5 star NABERS Energy rating, and completion is due in late 2019. Broad Construction, a member of the CIMIC Group, is the builder.
Dexus is still in the planning stages of the $1.4 billion Eagle Street Pier overhaul, which will bring two new towers and up to 1.5 hectares of open space to the waterfront. The Queensland government gave the green light for Dexus to begin a full feasibility study of the project in March.
This week, Brisbane City Council approved Investa Commercial Property Fund and Charter Hall’s 40-storey, 50,000 sqm 370 Queen Street building in the Golden Triangle, and earlier this month gave Mirvac approval for a 32-storey tower of 75,399 sqm at 80 Ann Street.
