JLL has strengthened its western Sydney team with the appointment of Peter Blade joins as head of industrial and Greg Pike joins as a director.
Blade and Pike come from CBRE, bringing 25 and 15 years’ experience respectively.
“Western Sydney is a major strategic focus for us, and we’re thrilled to have Peter Blade and Greg Pike join the team,” JLL’s head of industrial – New South Wales, Michael Wall said.
“Peter and Greg are known as market leaders for industrial leasing in western Sydney. In fact, they have 50% market share for deals above 5,000 sqm in the Outer West market.
“They are both highly respected industry figures with exceptional market knowledge and a strong understanding of our clients’ businesses.
“We’re confident they will complement a NSW Industrial team which now boasts fourteen agents specialising in the Western Sydney market.” Wall said.
The Sydney outer west markets have been a hub of activity over recent years.
Above 850,000 sqm gross take up was recorded over 2017 in Sydney’s outer west markets. This is 50% above the 10-year average for take-up, which now makes three successive years with occupier activity well above historical benchmarks.
Sustained demand led to strong rental growth, with an average of 3.9% in prime and 6.9% across the secondary market.
This confidence has resulted in an expansion of development activity. Above 500,000 sqm of developments are currently under construction with an expected completion in 2018.
