AXIOM Properties has started construction on the new $100 million Glenlea Mount Barker residential development in the Adelaide Hills.
T & J Constructions has commenced work on-site after being appointed to undertake civil construction activities for the project, including roads, footpaths and the establishment of all water, sewer, reticulated gas and NBN services to every allotment.
Early works will also include the creation of more than 4ha of parks and gardens throughout the development, which are on track to be completed by the middle of next year when the first demonstration home will be built.
Axiom Properties general manager Paul Rouvray said the start of construction is a major milestone for the project.
To coincide with the start of construction, Glenlea Mount Barker has also launched a new augmented reality app – a free download now available on Google Play and through the App Store – where homebuyers can view the entire estate in 3D or explore the future of the development in 360-degree mode.
“Following extensive planning, it is exciting to get construction works underway and begin our quest to turn the site into one of the premier residential addresses in the Adelaide Hills,” he said. “The new augmented reality app is also an exciting initiative for the project. We’ve embraced technology and developed the app to give buyers a fantastic insight into what Glenlea will look like in the not-too-distant future, from the high quality homes and streetscapes to the playgrounds, parks and wetlands that will characterise the estate,”
Set on 50ha of rural land bordered by Wellington Road and Bradfield Lane in the picturesque Adelaide Hills, Glenlea Mount Barker will comprise of 600 homes nestled among parks, recreation facilities and natural woodlands.
The project is a joint partnership between ASX-listed developer Axiom Properties and the local Gilbert family in Mount Barker – who have owned the land for the past 40 years.
