THE multi-family asset class is a major component of the US commercial property landscape, and is making its mark in the UK. However, it is only in recent months that the sector has gained a wider profile in Australia.
The Australian Property Institute’s 2017 National Property Conference will offer a rare, in-depth insight into the asset class and its place in Australia’s market with a presentation by Ernst & Young’s Luke Mackintosh.
Entitled Multi-Family as an Asset Class in Australia, the presentation will look at the hatching of innovative lease frameworks and delivery models that are paving the way for multi-family real estate development that is economically viable, and with this, new avenues are also emerging for enhancing housing affordability.
The conference will cover not only immediate major facets of the property industry – such as the current state of the residential market, and Amazon’s pending introduction and its impact on the retail landscape – but will have a firm eye to the future. As well as the multi-family sector, topics will include blockchain and its impact on property, the co-working asset class, and generational changes and their impact on property.
It will offer a mix of plenary and concurrent streams on day one and plenary sessions on day two, and an unrivalled opportunity for property professionals from around Australia to gather, network and learn at a national level.
