FORMER Attorney General Nicola Roxon has been appointed a non-executive director of retirement living operator Lifestyle Communities, only a fortnight after joining the board of Dexus.
Roxon is currently chairperson of the Cancer Council Australia and the Accounting Professional and Ethical Standards Board.
As well as Dexus, she is also a non-executive director of Bupa Australia and New Zealand.
Prior to that, she was the Commonwealth Attorney General, Minister for Health and Ageing, and industrial lawyer at Maurice Blackburn and the National Union of Workers.
Lifestyle Communities also announced the retirement of founding director Bruce Carter, who held a non-executive position on the board, and the appointment of Georgina Williams, also as a non-executive director.
Williams has more than two decades of financial services sector experience, having held roles at National Australia bank, Bank of Melbourne, and most recently AustalianSuper.
“As a founder, former executive director and, more recently, non-executive director, Bruce has made a tremendous contribution to the success to date of Lifestyle Communities,” chairman Tim Poole said.
