THE newly established agency, Development Victoria, is open for business.
Minister for Major Projects Jacinta Allan said Development Victoria brings together the skills and expertise of Places Victoria and Major Projects Victoria to oversee major urban renewal and development of under-utilised government land.
The agency will operate as a statutory authority, reporting to a board chaired by James MacKenzie.
“It will lead projects already underway – including the redevelopment of the State Library of Victoria, revitalisation of central Dandenong and Ballarat West Employment Zone – and play a key role in two of Australia’s most exciting urban renewal opportunities at Fishermans Bend and Arden,” she added. “The new agency will improve the development, renewal and revitalisation of Government-owned land across Victoria.”
