THE Victorian government has appointed Jude Munro as the new chair of the state’s Victorian Planning Authority (VPA).
CEO Peter Seamer said Muro is best known as the highly successful CEO of several councils, most notably Brisbane – Australia’s largest council for 10 years – but also Adelaide, Moreland and, prior to amalgamations, St Kilda.
“Jude brings skills in statutory governance and transformational change to the board, as well as strong, demonstrated leadership, and significant experience in board positions.
“Jude chairs or is on a number of Boards across Australia and will be a strong chair who will steer the VPA through its next few years. I’ve known Jude for a long time and have utmost respect for her capability, common sense and toughness when required,” Seamer said.
In addition to the appointment of the new chair, the VPA’s six existing board members include Bill Kusznirczuk (who has been acting chair for the past few months), Theo Theophanous, Freya Marsden, Brian Haratsis, Jennifer Cunich and Trevor Budge.
