THE world’s largest property developer Wanda Ridong and Brookfield Multiplex have formally inked their agreement to deliver the $1 billion Jewel development at Surfers Paradise.
A delegation from Wanda’s head office in Beijing travelled to the Gold Coast to sign the formal agreement.
Vice President, Wanda Commercial Properties, Chen Guocai, said Jewel project would bring together the world’s largest property developer and Australia’s largest builder to create a piece of Australian architectural history.
“Jewel will be the finest residential and hotel development ever seen in Australia, with levels of luxury never previously experienced here.
“It will be one of the world’s most instantly recognisable buildings, in one of the world’s most spectacular locations,” Chen said.
Jewel’s three towers will stand across 130 metres of direct beach frontage, and comprise 512 residential apartments, a 169-suite, five-star hotel, three levels of basement parking to accommodate 816 vehicles, as well as high-end retail and culinary precincts.
