LJ Hooker Commercial has enticed William Tong, one of Sydney’s Chinese investment specialists to re-join the agency.
Tong has joined LJ Hooker Commercial South Sydney as director of commercial sales and leasing, following senior positions at Colliers, CBRE and most recently senior director of Cushman & Wakefield.
His appointment follows a period of expansion for the LJ Hooker Commercial South Sydney office in the current financial year, which also includes Associate Director Tom Barnier (ex-Colliers) and new Managing Director Daniel O’Brien (ex-Knight Frank).
“We’re very pleased to have someone of Will’s calibre and experience joining our team. In addition to his commercial sales and leasing background, Will is highly regarded amongst the Chinese investor and development community,” O’Brien said.
“He has an exceptional reputation and track record for assisting the entry and expansion into Sydney from offshore investors. He also brings with him strong relationships with institutional clients in our market, having negotiated scores of commercial leases.
“With the ongoing renewal of the city’s southern region we’re building a team which can best service the needs of the market,” he added.
Tong said he was very excited for the new challenge.
“I started at LJ Hooker Commercial in 2003 and I’ve been impressed with the development of the brand over that time. I’m very excited to be joining the LJ Hooker Commercial South Sydney team, servicing a very dynamic part of the city market,” Tong said.
